The bridal party is busy enough without worrying about what it entails to get alterations. I have included as much information as possible for questions I commonly receive and I hope to make your experience as "seamless" as possible.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes, I work out of my home by appointment only. I take appointments Monday through Friday from 10 am - 5 pm. Please contact me to set up your appointment via a phone call, email, or text. Bridal alterations appointments do require a deposit to secure your spot in my calendar.

What is your turn-around time?

My turn-around time is generally two to three weeks, although scheduling appointments depends on your wedding date. I will make follow up appointments with you based on how far out your wedding is from our initial appointment and how many fittings we will need. For standard alterations, I will have the alterations completed for our second appointment and we'll have you try on the item to make sure it is a perfect fit.

When should I get my wedding dress altered?

I recommend starting bridal alterations 8-12 weeks before your wedding, depending the type of alterations and modifications you desire. Often women will want to wait as long as possible to lose those last few pounds before the wedding or event, but waiting too long can end up costing you a rush fee. Plan to set up your first alterations appointment at least 8-12 weeks before your wedding. The second appointment will be 2-4 weeks later to ensure all the alterations are correct. You may or may not need additional appointments after this. Even though your dress will fit and look perfect at your last alterations appointment, make sure you try it on again three weeks before your wedding to avoid any surprises.

What do I need to bring with me to the appointment?

For bridal and formal dress appointments, please bring the shoes you will be wearing with your dress, and any undergarments you plan on wearing. Please wear minimal make up to avoid transferring it to your gown. For general alterations, just bring the clothing that needs to be altered.

What should I expect at an alterations appointment?

For bridal and formal dress appointments, I will have you try on the dress so we can see what alterations need to be made. We can also discuss any customizations you would like. For custom orders, I will take your measurements and we will discuss your design and fabric specifications. For general alterations, depending on what you need to have fixed or altered I may have you try on the item. For all appointments, we will set up a second fitting or pick up appointment and I will give you a final price quote so there are no surprises later. Please plan on the appointment lasting a half hour to an hour.

How much do alterations cost?

The cost depends entirely on what you need to have altered and how time consuming and complex the alterations will be. For dress alterations, I usually need to see a picture of the dress, or the dress itself, in order to gauge the complexity of the alterations. I can give you an estimate before our first fitting if you can provide me with a picture of your dress, and a final price quote at the initial fitting.

Can I get last minute alterations done?

I am happy to do express alterations as long as my schedule allows for it. Occasionally, during wedding or prom season I may be completely booked. I do charge a 30% rush fee if you need to have a bridal gown altered in less than six weeks.

Can you work from my idea, a photo, ad or sketch?

Generally, yes. I work from commercial patterns when creating new gowns and I can modify those patterns to suit your specific desires. I am happy to work with you from your idea or picture; however, I cannot sketch an idea for you. Sewing is my talent; drawing is not.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash is preferred, however I also accept check or Venmo.

What do I do if I need to reschedule my appointment?

Please contact me within at least 24 hours of your appointment to cancel or reschedule. I value your time and I appreciate that you value mine. I do not reschedule with "no-shows". If you will be more than 10 minutes late for your appointment time you will be required to reschedule.
